What is IB/IGB

Concepts and Tools

Inclusive Business and Inclusive Green Business are commercially viable business lines, deliberately designed for the poor and low-income people of Ghana.

Inclusive Businesses and Inclusive Green Businesses are commercially viable business lines of private sector companies that are deliberately designed to create scaled-up, innovative, and systemic solutions for the relevant income and living standards (IB) or environmental (IGB) challenges of the poor and low-income people — the base of the pyramid, or BoP — in Ghana.

IB/IGB business lines can be in all sectors and can be sponsored by companies of any size except micro, measured in revenue. Most models are sponsored by medium-sized businesses, often in agribusiness. They create a triple win for the poor, for business, and for society and the economy. Going IB/IGB is a transformation, not a side activity.

Inclusive Business sits at the centre of three wins: for business, for society and government, and for poor and low-income people.
