Financing Risk Reduction and Social Innovation
A 25 million dollar fund has been discussed, to take risk beside impact investors while IB/IGB deals are still pilots.
An IB/IGB finance committee has been established. A concept for a Risk Reduction and Social Innovation Fund of 25 million dollars has been discussed. The fund would co-invest with impact investors in piloting IB/IGB deals, and so reduce the investment risk that otherwise keeps impact investors from scaling those deals up.
In the pilot phase the fund would support up to 50 IB/IGB deals. The scale-up, through impact investors, is expected to mobilise an additional 120 million dollars of investment.
On the institutional diagram the investment committee is shown with VCTF, the Ministry of Finance, IIGh, and GVCA (GIPC). More information on the RRSIF concept can be provided on request, through the secretariat.
